Who to bring to your appointment
Here we break down our best advice for choosing your wedding dress appointment guests. Over the years we have met hundreds of brides and their family and friends. We have seen brides come alone and with many guests and have seen how much your entourage can affect your appointment positively and negatively!
Less is more
We have comfortable seating for 5 guests in our fitting areas. Why only 5? Our area is small, but perfectly formed and gives a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. Less guests also means you have less chance of conflicting opinions that could derail your appointment and leave you feeling deflated - which nobody wants! We have also found brides love it when they can keep their dress a surprise to as many of their guests as possible. There are so many benefits to having less guests with you during your appointment.
The right people
It’s important you bring the people who know you best and who you know will be there to hype you up and support you on your journey. You do want everyone to give you an honest opinion, but also nobody else but you can decide and we also can’t always see if you get the ‘feeling’ in your dress. You have to go with your gut feeling, the dress that makes you feel like the best version of you, that is comfortable and you can see yourself wearing on your day. If you know someone can be too blunt and you can’t handle that, they aren’t the person to bring with you! Remember, your family and friends who can bring honesty with a loving touch is key - positive vibes are a super important part of finding ‘the one’.
Prep before your appointment
It could be a good idea to let your guests know what you are looking for or what your overall wedding vibe is before your appointment so that they are on the same page as you! This will help them remind you of what you are looking for during your appointment and support you with selecting the gowns that fit your vision, rather than them gravitating to the gowns they love. A top tip from many of our brides is to send your friends and family some screenshots of dresses you love beforehand so that everyone has a great idea of what elements you are loving!
Ultimately - it is your day and it is really useful you bring a small and curated group of your most supportive friends and family in order to get the most out of your appointment.
